(NASDAQ:ALLY) announced that the Evolution Series (EVO) slot machine platform from its Bally Gaming and Systems business unit will be a featured attraction in the Microsoft Corp. display at the Windows Embedded Developers Conference at the Bellagio Hotel Nov. 28-30.

The continued development of the EVO gaming platform is the result of a strategic relationship between Bally Gaming and Systems and Microsoft through Microsoft's Windows XP Embedded Rapid Development Program (RDP). In joining the likes of Fujitsu Siemens Computers, National Semiconductor Corp., SCM Microsystems Inc., Siemens AG and Toshiba TEC, Bally Gaming and Systems participated in the program that is designed to provide "in-depth technical feedback from industry partners and customers that are actively developing products and services on the current and future beta versions of Microsoft Windows XP Embedded," according to a previously issued Microsoft news release.

"It's exciting to see how Alliance Gaming has used the powerful features of Windows XP Embedded to build an industry leading gaming device," said Jim Allchin, group vice president of Microsoft's Platforms division. Hotel-casino releasing computer game

The Venetian hotel-casino has licensed a suite of computer casino games from a California company, and plans to launch a computer game branded after the Las Vegas property.

The suite of casino games was produced by Interactive Solutions Corp. of Irvine, Calif. The Venetian-branded computer game will include 35 casino games, including blackjack, roulette, craps, slots and video poker.

The game, set for a January release, should serve as a brand builder for the Venetian, as well as a revenue generator, said Christopher Stacey, the Venetian's Internet marketing manager.

"This is another way to build the Venetian brand and experience," Stacey said. "The casino and lobby (in the game) will all be consistent with our property."

The game will be sold in the Venetian's Grand Canal Shoppes, its guest rooms and over its Internet site, and talks are under way to sell the game through independent retailers, Stacey said.

Players will have the ability to play the game with other people through the Internet, but Stacey said the product has nothing to do with for-cash Internet gaming.

Pagcor in talks with 2 foreign groups for 15 bln usd 'Entertainment City'

The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp is in discussions with two foreign groups for the construction within three years of a 15 bln usd 'Entertainment City' along a 65-hectare reclaimed property along Roxas Boulevard in the capital, Pagcor chairman Efraim Genuino said.

Genuino said Pagcor is only sorting out certain legal issues with the foreign investors and hopes a deal will be finalised within the year or early next year.

He said the project involves the construction of three large casinos, six theme parks, a marina and sports complex, an indoor rainforest, shopping malls, offices and residential condominium, an elevated mass transit system, a hotel and a hospital.

"Once completed, this project will triple the income of Pagcor and the government will not spend a single centavo for the development. And this project will bring billions of dollars to the country," he said.

He said Pagcor intends to use 15-18 bln pesos from its bond issue to purchase the land from the Public Estates Authority.
